Broad Acceptance
Drive Insurance from Progressive provides specialized insurance for boats. Our program can cover 95 percent of all boats on the water today (including fishing boats, runabouts, personal watercraft and boats up to 50 feet in length and $250,000 in value).

A homeowner’s endorsement won’t cover you like a Drive Insurance boat policy. We provide coverage for your customer’s specific needs with policy options including:

• Total Loss Replacement - Replaces insured’s boat with a brand new one of similar make and quality

• Replacement Cost Fishing Equipment - Up to $10,000 for tackle, rods, and reels
• Replacement Cost Personal Effects – Protects the insured’s personal items including cameras, clothes, cell phones, etc
• 24-hour Roadside Assistance - Covers trailer and tow vehicle, even if tow vehicle is not insured with Drive Insurance
• Emergency Towing and Labor (on-water towing)
• Wreckage Removal Coverage
• Property Damage Liability - includes coverage for fuel spill cleanup
• Medical Payments - including coverage for water-skiers

Replacement Cost Personal Effects/Fishing Equipment Coverage Change
Over the past several years Drive Insurance has made numerous enhancements to our Boat Policy to make it one of the most comprehensive policies available. One of these enhancements included the introduction of Fishing Equipment Coverage which is primary.

Prior to the introduction of this coverage, Drive provided limited coverage ($300) for fishing equipment underneath Personal Effects Coverage, which was secondary to the insured’s homeowner’s or tenant’s policy. To eliminate the duplication in coverage and to prevent confusion in the event of a loss, we decided to eliminate the $300 worth of fishing equipment coverage from the Personal Effects coverage. This means, if any of your boat customers need coverage for their tackle boxes, rods, reels, etc. he/she needs to purchase Fishing Equipment Coverage. If you have any questions about this change, please contact your Territory Sales Manager.
